How to Restore a Dell Computer to its Factory Settings

Step 1

When you are done creating data backup, detach any peripheral like printer, router, or gaming console connected to your Dell computer. When done, restart your Dell computer. As soon as your Dell computer starts rebooting, start tapping the F8 key on your keyboard. Continue stroking the key until you see the Advanced Boot Options menu on your Dell computer screen.
Step 4
When in the Advanced Boot Options, click Repair Your Computer (use Up or Down arrow to make the selection) and hit the Enter key. If prompted, select your language (English) and click the Next button. When prompted, enter your admin username and password and click the OK button. Click the Dell Factory Image Restore option and then click Next or OK whichever option you see on the screen.

Check the box beside Yes, reformat hard drive and restore system software to factory condition and then click the Next button.
